Classic Inca Trail 4 days

Day 1: Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Wayllabamba

Early morning pick you up from hotel. We will take a bus to Km 82, where we find the qeswuas porters. Then cross the turbulent Vilcanota River, while watching the snowcapped mountain of the Veronica or Wacay Willca (5900 meters or 19356 feet).

We will first stop to the beauty of the archaeological complex of Llactapata and Taray lunch near the river walk lasts for 7 hours. Dinner and camp at 3800 meters above sea level or 12,467 feet.

Day 2: Wayllabamba – Pacaymayu

This day will be one of the harder days of the route, because we will begin to ascend while we observe the snowcapped mountains in all directions as the Huayanay of the Vilcabamba mountain range.

After breakfast, we will ascend through the Inca Trail to reach the first high pass called Warmiwañuska (4200 m.s.n.m. o 13779 feet), and during this rise, we will cross three ecological zones like: Yunga, Quechua and Puna. Then, we will stop for lunch; and terminated the swallowed, we will descend to 1000 m.s.n.m., where it is the camp zone. Dinner and Overnight near to Pacaymayu.

Day 3: Pacaymayu – Wiñayhuayna

After breakfast, we will walk through Pacaymayu valley until the famous remains of Runquraqay. Later, we will continue with direction to Sayacmarka, where we will stop to explore this restored Inca city.

During this route we will appreciate the formations of white granite, the mountains and the dense Inca Trail vegetation. Later, we will descend to Phuyupatamarca, where we will lunch and will relax to resume Inca Trail. Finalizing this tour we will descend to Wiñaywayna, where we will make a visit into these ruins. Dinner and Overnight.

Day 4: Wiñaywayna – Machu Picchu – Cusco

At 4:30 Am., We will take our breakfast and will begin with the last part of Inca Trail. This day will be a special day, because we will see, how the sun stained the Machu Picchu citadel in the sunrise from Inti Punku. Later, we will descend through cloud forest into jungle; habitat of orchids and hummingbirds that are observed during this part of Inca Trail.

Into Machu Picchu we will have a visit guided for 2 hours and a half. Then, you will have free time to explore the ruins by your account, and in the afternoon we will take the return train to Cusco.
