Day 1: Cusco/Asuncion
On our first day adventure into the Manu amazon, we pick you up at 5:300 a.m. from your hotel, in our private vehicle. The first part of our excursion drive us through the Vilcanota mountain range and small villages as Huancarani, Pirhuayani the high pass (4725 m, 15583 feet) and a small Pre-inca culture, of Lupacas and its Funeral towers of Ninamarca. Then continue on to Paucartambo, famous because of colonial past, and its folklore town. a short drive take us to the famous cloud forest which has interesting flora and fauna like the Andean Cock of the Rock Peru’s national bird, where show us an impressive array of sounds and colours that can only be found in the jungle. then arrive to Asuncion and overnight at Bamboo Lodge.
Day 2: Atalaya/Machuwasy Lake.
On the way to Atalaya we stop to appreciate different species of animals, especially birds, and dramatic scenery of the jungle, observed an coca leaf plantations, we then cross by motorized boat downriver toward our lodge where we have a walk later in the afternoon we visit Machuwasi (lake) for 3 hours and with Telescope and Binoculars we appreciate many families of hoatzins (primitive bird), horned screamer, hawk, herons, capybara (largest rodent in the world) and on a lucky day a anaconda. Returning to the lodge and having a dinner, we then continue a night walk in the jungle to look for spiders, snakes and lot tree frogs. We will spend the night in our comfortable lodge
Day 3: Expedition In Bonanza Ecological Reserve
At daybreak we go on a morning trek through the jungle to enjoy the Amazon Jungle most impressive spectacles, the amazing Sounds of the birds, we will explore the jungle such the primary and secondary forest having many opportunities to see wildlife such a monkeys, anteaters, Peccaries and many different types of trees and medicinal plants. In the afternoon we will arrive at our camping place in the middle of the jungle, where our cook is going to be ready with some tasty snacks , we will go fishing and late in the afternoon we will go to search for some caiman. Tonight we camp and will sleep in tents.
Day 4: Bonanza Ecological Reserve – Muyuna Parrots Clay Lick
After breakfast we will go to the Jungle again to see, where we will have a chance to see a rich biodiversity of birds, monkeys, exotic plants and maybe the famous jaguar. This day we have a short walk in the forest for 3 hours. Getting to our lodge, we will have time for shower and lunch. Afterwards we will travel by boat for 3 hours up stream, arriving to Muyuna Parrots Clay Lick, where will spend our last night with a barbecue and campfire. This night we camp and sleep in tents. Optional tonight is a night walk.
Day 5: Muyuna Parrots Clay Lick – Cusco
We will leave from Muyuna Parrots Clay Lick early in the morning to go to the Port Atalaya. From here we will take the bus directly to Cusco passing through the Cloud Forest.
