How long to visit: This is a 2-day, 1-night tour. It is a well-paced option that allows you to see the main highlights without being too rushed.

Preparation

Acclimatization: Plan to arrive in Cusco at least 48 hours before your tour begins to properly adjust to the high altitude. This will help prevent altitude sickness.

Recommendations: Wear sturdy, comfortable walking shoes. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Keep your passport and tickets in a safe, accessible place.

Climate: The Sacred Valley has a temperate and dry climate. Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu are in a subtropical cloud forest, which means conditions can be warm, humid, and misty, with a high chance of rain at any time of year.

The Local People: The people in the Sacred Valley and Aguas Calientes are very accustomed to tourism. Aguas Calientes is a town built almost entirely to serve visitors to Machu Picchu.

Recommended Age: This tour is suitable for all ages and is a great option for families, couples, or individuals who prefer not to do a multi-day hike.
